“The process of setting and achieving goals I used as an athlete is very similar to that used in financial planning. Challenge all the drivers of performance to set achievable goals and then follow a disciplined plan. To be able to combine what I learned as an athlete with my financial training to help clients achieve their financial goals is one of the most rewarding things.”
Matt earned his undergraduate degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance from Northern Michigan University. Upon graduation he accepted a role with private wealth management firm where was instrumental in developing the investment research and portfolio management practices and later became the firm’s portfolio manager.
Matt earned his MBA from the University of Connecticut. Following graduate school, he spent time working for Prudential Retirement where he gained valuable experience with institutional retirement plans. He has earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations. He maintains his membership in CFA Institute.
